Langtved Data A/S in going into Space!

 Langtved Data A/S has since october 2007 been a partner to euroluna, a European organization that participates in the xprize competition .

The xprize organization will donate $30 million to the first privately funded team that sends a robot to the Moon.

As a partner for euroluna, we are partcipating in this contest. We are making software for navigation and control of Romit, the sattelite shown above. Because of the many constraints on a 10 x 10 x 20 cm vehicle, we have to use a low power microprocessor with a simple operating system.

A common problem with testing software and hardware made for space is that it is very difficult to create the same conditions in a practical testing environment.

Another activity that we are involved in is to write the software that makes the mission plan. This is done by simulation of a large number of trajectories to the Moon. This software has to be extremely accurate and therefore uses very advanced numerical methods. This software runs on a normal PC with the Windows operating system.
